BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
EDUCATION:
The Seattle Chapter of the National Association of Credit Managers – Credit & Financial Development Division (NACM-CFDD) provides many opportunities for the Credit Professional to become educated in matters of credit, collections, legal, finance, and self improvement. Not many professions have associations that provide such direct educational opportunities to their members. NACM & CFDD is one of those rare providers. If you are already working in the field or considering a career in the field of Credit Management then NACM’s Credit and Financial Development Division is the place for you.
NACM National offers a National Accreditation Certification program which allows a credit professional to become nationally accredited through education, participation and testing. NACM-CFDD strongly supports this national certification program. We offer many learning opportunities through monthly dinner meetings, seminars and regional conferences for our members to earn “continuing education units” (CEU’s), a must have for all certifications. We also offer study groups and mentoring to aid those professionals working on their certification “roadmaps”.
MONTHLY MEETINGS: The second Monday of every month we meet for our educational dinner meeting starting at 5:30pm. The first hour is spent networking, discussing credit issues with other credit professionals and learning how they handle special problems within their industry. After dinner, around 7:00pm, the speaker is introduced for the evening’s educational program which runs a half hour to an hour, depending upon the speaker and amount of material.
SEMINARS: We sponsor (2) seminars a year on a variety of topics. These are designated to further your career as a Credit Professional and to help you fulfill requirements for the local NACM-BCS and National NACM Accreditation Programs.
SCHOLARSHIPS: We offer, to our members, scholarships to attend local seminars, college courses, the regional Pacific NW Credit Conference & the NACM National Credit Congress. Members preparing to sit for a NACM National certification exam may also apply to the chapter for scholarship money to pay for testing fees.
STUDY GROUPS: We have mentors that facilitate study groups designed to help the up and coming credit professional prepare for the NACM National CBA (Certified Business Associates), CBF (Certified Business Fellow), and CCE (Certified Credit Executive) exams.
MENTORING: We offer a mentoring program to assist new members to our group and to NACM. We help by providing guidelines to the accreditation programs, both locally and nationally, and we introduce you to other members of the group who can also guide you down the road to a successful career in Credit Management.
These are just a few of the many ways our organization can be of benefit to you. For more information please contact Jeremy J. Keenan, CCE,CICP at (425) 974-8859 or at
